Special Issue: Intelligent Control & Signal Processing for Service Robot Applications [Journal of Robotics Research (JRR)]
Aim:
Service robots have become an integral part of various industries, including healthcare, hospitality, domestic services, and more. The integration of intelligent control and advanced signal processing techniques is crucial for enhancing the performance, adaptability, and reliability of these robots. This special issue aims to showcase the latest research and developments in intelligent control and signal processing specifically tailored for service robots. We seek original research papers, review articles, and case studies that explore innovative solutions and address current challenges in this rapidly evolving field.
Scope and Objectives:
This special issue seeks to gather cutting-edge research contributions in the area of intelligent signal processing with a focus on novel algorithms, methodologies, and applications. The key objectives of this special issue include, but are not limited to:
The scope of this special issue includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
Intelligent control algorithms for service robots
Real-time signal processing techniques for service robot systems
Sensor fusion and data integration in service robots
Machine learning and artificial intelligence in service robot control
Advanced signal processing for service robot perception and navigation
Adaptive and robust control methods for service robots
Signal processing techniques to integrate data from multiple sensors (e.g., cameras, lidar, radar, and inertial sensors) for creating a comprehensive and accurate representation of the robot's environment and also extracting relevant features from visual data, aiding in the identification and localization of objects.
Applications of intelligent control in healthcare robots, hospitality robots, domestic robots, and other service-oriented robots
Case studies and practical implementations of intelligent control and signal processing in service robots
Development of intelligent control and signal processing algorithms leveraging techniques such as machine learning, deep learning, evolutionary computing, and fuzzy logic for service robot’s localization and mapping.
Signal processing algorithms contribute to generating smooth and efficient trajectories for service robot motion, considering constraints and optimizing for specific tasks.
Exploration of innovative approaches for signal de-noising, feature extraction, classification, segmentation, and reconstruction.
Integration of intelligent signal processing techniques with emerging technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, and blockchain for real-world applications in service robot.
Applications of intelligent signal processing in service robot diverse fields including but not limited to telecommunications, biomedical engineering, environmental monitoring, smart cities, robotics, and industrial automation.
Synthetic signal generation using generative AI for training and testing of robust robotic perception systems through data augmentation.
Evaluation and validation of intelligent signal processing methodologies through experimental studies, simulations, and real-world deployment for robotics.
Submission Guidelines:
Authors are invited to submit original, high-quality manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submissions should be made through the journal's online submission system and must adhere to the journal's formatting guidelines. Each submission will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and relevance of the contributions.
